Marcus Gronqvist

My background is in Civil Engineering and IT, having studied both as part of MSc programmes at the University of Leeds. Prior to becoming an academic full-time, I worked in the field of value and risk management for a number of years and this industrial experience is something that I am keen to share with students. Away from the School of Civil Engineering I enjoy playing golf and travelling, the favourite destination being Key West, Florida.

The Engineering Project Management programme covers the entire project management process, from inception and feasibility, engineering, procurement and implementation through to commissioning and operation. Modules are taught by lecturers who have both cutting edge research and industrial experience. All of the modules on the programme offer a blend of theory and case study based learning enabling students to get hands-on experience of management methods.

Projects are one of the most enjoyable parts of any good University study, and ours are no exception. Previous students have carried out projects on integration of risk and value management, innovation management, sustainable engineering, leadership styles in construction, knowledge management on complex projects and whole life asset management, to name but a few.
