Mechanical engineers are involved in the design and manufacture of almost everything, and there are jobs for mechanical engineers in most areas of industry. As a mechanical engineer you could become involved in design, manufacture, research, development, management or marketing.

Flexible degrees

Our courses share a common first two years. This means you have the freedom to switch courses up until the end of your second year. You also have the option of extending your studies through the Study Abroad and industrial placement year options

Laboratory classes, project work and fieldwork allow you to gain hands-on experience, investigating and applying material from your lectures and tutorials to real-life work situations.
