Higher-dimensional reeb space analysis

Project description

As computational topology develops, new analytic tools help with comprehension first of scalar and vector data, later of bivariate data. While mathematical concepts are well-developed, computational tools lag behind, and a viable computation of the R3 -> R2 has only recently been defined. For time-varying data or for more complex data types, specific algorithms are yet to be developed, and this project will target these cases, working on algorithms for extraction, display and visualisation of Reeb Spaces in the R4 -> R2 and R4 -> R3 cases.

Entry requirements

Applications are invited from candidates with a minimum of a UK upper second class honours degree (2:1), and/ or a Master's degree in a relevant subject. We also recognise relevant industrial and academic experience.
