We offer a number of scholarship opportunities to support and reward students from around the world. If you are a UK or EU student you may be able to receive a government postgraduate loan.

2019-20 Scholarships

Summary

This bursary is for former students of the University of Leeds studying for a postgraduate degree in the Faculty of Engineering.

Value - what money is on offer

The University will pay 10% of the self-funded portion of your fees for each year of the course. If no fees are paid then no bursary is awarded.

Who is eligible

This is an automatic bursary but you have to inform us and provide evidence that you’re a former student of the University of Leeds.

The scholarship excludes Engineering Management MSc.

Deadline

No deadline - automatic.

Conditions

You must be a former University of Leeds student. Courses that are run in conjunction with other universities are excluded from the Bursary.

Summary

This is an automatic scholarship awarded on condition of you achieving the equivalent of a UK first class degree.

Value - what money is on offer

£2,000. The award will be applied as a fee waiver.

Who is eligible

You’re eligible if you’re a UK/EU applicant who has been offered a place on any of the Masters courses (except Advanced Concrete Technology MSc/PGDip) within the School of Civil Engineering.

Deadline

No deadline - automatic.

Conditions

You must be self-funding, full or part time, classified as UK/EU for tuition fee purposes and not in receipt of any other Faculty of Engineering award.

How are the scholarships awarded?

Automatic based on undergraduate degree result (UK first class or equivalent or professional equivalent).

Summary

A scholarship awarded to the best British applicant or, if none, best applicant from a British Commonwealth country.

Value - what money is on offer

£3,000 towards fees and £1,000 towards maintenance.

British applicants and applicants from British Commonwealth countries.

2018-19 Scholarships

Summary

The scholarship is open to applicants that have been offered a place on the MSc(Eng) International Construction Management and Engineering and the MSc(Eng) Environmental Engineering and Project Management within the School of Civil Engineering and are nationals of a World Bank developing country.

Value - what money is on offer

Scholarship includes tuition, a monthly living stipend, round-trip airfare, and travel allowance.

Who is eligible

To be eligible students must have received an unconditional offer by 12 April 2018 to study on the MSc(Eng) International Construction Management and Engineering and the MSc(Eng) Environmental Engineering and Project Management within the School of Civil Engineering.

Students must hold a Bachelor (or equivalent) degree earned at least 3 years prior to the application deadline date and have 3 years or more of recent development-related experience after earning a Bachelor (or equivalent) degree.

Summary

Summary

A Joint Graduate Loan-Scholarship Programme for Colombian students studying at the University of Leeds.

Value - what money is on offer

20% tuition fee scholarship to all eligible students.

Who is eligible

Students in Colombia interested in this Joint Graduate Loan-Scholarship Programme. You must hold an academic offer as a full-time taught postgraduate with the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Leeds and be selected as beneficiaries of the Loan-Scholarship Programme of COLFUTURO.

Summary

The University of Leeds has a formal cooperation agreement with the Mexican Consejo Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnologia (CONACyT) which provides reduced tuition fees to CONACyT sponsored students.

The following energy related MSc courses will receive an additional fee reduction.

Students who demonstrate academic excellence, interest, and work experience may be awarded this scholarship (excluding Advanced Concrete Technology MSc Eng/PGDip).

This is an automatic scholarship that is awarded to students who achieve a 2:1 or above, or an equivalent qualification, in their undergraduate degree.

The scholarship excludes Advanced Concrete Technology MSc Eng/PGDip.

You must be self-funding, full time, classified as international for tuition fee purposes and not in receipt of any other Faculty of Engineering award.

Summary

The scholarship is available to applicants that have been offered a place on the MSc Water Sanitation and Health Engineering programme within the School of Civil Engineering and are nationals of ODA-recipient countries and territories.  

Applicants from countries and territories which are categorised as Least-Developed, Low or Middle-Income as shown on the DAC list will be prioritised. The DAC list is available here.

Applicants will be required to demonstrate how they intend to resource the remaining fees and living expenses on their application.

To be selected for this award, students must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, experience and a clear statement of interest in water, sanitation and hygiene on the application form. Applications will be considered by a panel of staff from the School of Civil Engineering and the Nuffield Centre for International Health.

This award is generously donated by the family of a former student and alumnus of the MSc Water Sanitation and Health Engineering programme within the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds as a tribute in his memory. It is the family’s wish that the successful candidate take back their new found knowledge to their country of origin to inform and impact in the field of Water Sanitation and Health Engineering.

This scholarship is available to applicants who are nationals of ODA-recipient countries and territories. Applicants from countries and territories which are categorised as Least-Developed, Low or Middle-Income as shown on the DAC list will be prioritised. The DAC list is available here.
