Scholarships

We are committed to recognising hard work and achievement and we offer a number of scholarship opportunities to support undergraduates who have the potential to be an outstanding student.
If you are a UK or EU student, you may also be able to receive government support to help towards your tuition fees and living costs.

2018-19 Scholarships

Summary

This scholarship is for you if you’re a new UK/EU rated fee-paying applicant who will start on one of our undergraduate degree courses in the School of Civil Engineering at the University of Leeds.

Who is eligible

The scholarship is available to you if you’re a UK/EU student who achieved A*AA at A-level (A2) (or equivalent qualification, based on the criteria used by the School for offer purposes). The grades must be in subjects required for the course. You must be new to the University and enter onto Level 1. You must not be in receipt of any other Faculty of Engineering scholarship.

Conditions

You must achieve a yearly attainment percentage of 70% or above with all modules passed at the first attempt. The scholarship will be withheld in a year if you fail to achieve 70%, but will be reinstated the following year if your performance recovers to 70% or over. £500 will be awarded per year of study. The scholarship is only available for years of study in Leeds. It will pause during any industrial placements or study abroad year and be reinstated on return to Leeds, based on academic achievement in the previous Leeds based year.

Summary

Quest (Queen’s Jubilee Scholarship Trust) offers scholarships to students about to start an ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers) accredited Civil Engineering degree in the UK. Each scholarship is funded by QUEST and a company.

Value - what money is on offer

£2,500 for every year of study (up to a maximum of four years, or five in Scotland)

Who is eligible

You’re eligible if you’re a UK student starting an undergraduate Civil Engineering degree. You must have a minimum of ABB at A level (or equivalent).

2019-20 Scholarships

This is an automatic scholarship awarded on condition of you achieving A*A*A at A-level (A2).

£1,000 per year of study.

Who is eligible

This is awarded to students who have achieved A*A*A at A-level (A2) or an equivalent qualification, based on the criteria used by the School for offer purposes.

You won’t receive the scholarship for the industrial placement year or study abroad year.

2019-20 Scholarships

Summary

This scholarship is for any internationally rated applicant who has been offered a place on any of the undergraduate degrees in the Faculty of Engineering.

£2,000 per year of study.

Who is eligible

You must have been offered a place on any of the undergraduate degrees within the Faculty of Engineering.

You won’t receive the scholarship for the industrial placement year or study abroad year.

Deadline

No deadline - automatic.

Conditions

You must be self-funding, new to the University of Leeds, enter onto Level 1 and be classified as international for tuition fee purposes. You must not be in receipt of any other University of Leeds award. You must also achieve a yearly attainment percentage of 60% or above with all modules passed at the first attempt.

The scholarship will be withheld in a year if you fail to achieve 60%, but will be reinstated the following year if your performance recovers to 60% or over. £2,000 will be awarded per year of study.

If you’re a self-funding student who’s successfully completed the International Foundation Year (IFY) at the University of Leeds you’ll also be eligible for this scholarship.

How are the scholarships awarded?

The scholarship will be awarded as a fee reduction.
