What will I learn?
A range of presentations, discussions, forums and practical hands-on sessions illustrating the principles of pharmaceutical medical gas testing will ensure that on completion of this course, you’ll be able to:
- demonstrate a knowledge of relevant pharmacopoeial monographs, HTM 02-01
- show a knowledge of medical gases production
- demonstrate a knowledge of health and safety relating to medical gases
- make critical assessment on health and safety issues such as OES, MEL and STEL
- identify and resolve problems associated with medical gas systems
- interpret test results of medical gas systems and take appropriate actions
- identify and resolve any problems associated with testing equipment
- document relevant activities and interventions.
How will I benefit?
This two-day refresher and reassessment programme is specifically designed for you if you’re required to take the formal assessment of competency required under HTM02 every five years. The aim is to give an opportunity for QC (MGPS) personnel to be aware of developments and best practice.
This course is delivered by a balanced mix of presentations, discussions, forums and practical hands-on sessions illustrating the principles of pharmaceutical medical gas testing.
Competency will be evaluated by informal observation of practical skills and a written exam at the end of the course. Please note, the reassessment process is of the delegates general knowledge of Medical Gas Testing, not necessarily of the knowledge gained during this short course. This is to assure ongoing competence of those retained on the QC(MGPS) register under HTM 02-01.
Who should attend?
This course will be suitable for pharmacists and other health professionals with experience and responsibilities for, or an interest in, medical gas testing. This course is of particular importance to those who require the formal assessment of competency under the HTM02 every five years. The aim is to give an opportunity for QC (MPGS) personnel to be aware of developments and best practice.
