Dr Tianjia Shao

I'm currently an Assistant Professor (Lecturer in UK) in the School of Computing, University of Leeds, UK. Previously I was an Assistant Researcher in the State Key Laboratory of CAD&CG, Zhejiang University. I also spent one year working as a visiting researcher in the Department of Computer Science, University College London. I received my PhD (Jan. 2014) in Computer Science from Institute for Advanced Study, Tsinghua University, and my B.S. (Aug. 2008) from the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University.

Research interests

I am broadly interested in any problems in 3D content creation in Computer Graphics, especially how to enable end users to conveniently create 3D contents by themselves. My current research focuses on semantic 3D modeling from consumer hardware (e.g. RGB/RGBD cameras) and common 2D contents (e.g. photographs and sketches), and structure/function aware geometry processing.
