Professor Richard Hall
Professor Hall has an undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of Leeds and was awarded a PhD from the University of Lancaster. He rejoined the University of Leeds as a jointly appointed Lecturer in the Schools of Mechanical Engineering and Medicine. His appointment is now solely within the School of Mechanical Engineering. Residing within the School his research interests are related to medical engineering particularly of the spine as well as other joints including the hip.

Professor Hall has received funding from National Institutes of Health in the USA, Wellcome (UK), the European Commission and EPSRC. Richard is currently the Co-ordinator of the European Project, LifeLongJoints, which comprises 15 EU partners at a value of over €18M. Additionally, Richard has a growing interest in neural mechanics.

I teach on modules concerned with medical engineering as well as supervising projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. I have a keen interest in postgraduate provision in my capacity as the Director of PGR studies for the Faculty of Engineering.
