Dr Frederick Oritseweneye Pessu

Profile

I hold a Bachelor of Engineering B.Eng(Hons) (2007)in degree from the department of Chemical Engineering from the University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers state, Nigeria, before proceeding to the United kingdom on a Federal Government Scholarship to study for a Masters of Science, Engineering (MSc. Eng, 2010) degree in Oilfield Corrosion Engineering from the School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Leeds in 2009.

I was later inspired by my interest in corrosion science and engineering to undertake a Ph.D course in the School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Leeds. My research topic was in pitting and localised corrosion of carbon steel metarials used in Oil and gas production and transportation.

I am currently working as an Oil and Gas Corrosion Research Fellow in the Institute of Functional Surfaces, School of Mechanical Engineering, University of Leeds.

Research interests

My research interest includes; Sweet (CO2) and Sour (H2S) corrosion, pitting/localised corrosion, corrosion inhibition and control.
